In-Brief

1. Only the Supreme Court can ensure free and fair elections in the future.
2. The 2020 elections were mired by unconstitutional acts by state officials and by substantial fraud. Expect the Supreme Court to rule on both.
3. The Electoral College votes are cast from the state capitals this Monday, Dec. 14, but that step will not end the political and legal wrangling.
4. Vaccinations against Covid have started! Survival rates after having Covid-19 have become quite high. But Covid-19 is still extremely dangerous.
5. The US economy began a strong recovery in June. The huge 3^rd quarter GDP gain shows the recovery is V-shaped. That recovery has extended well into the 4^th quarter as the latest data show. But it is slowing a bit based on new restrictions on economic activity because the spike in Covid cases.
