In-Brief

1. Biden delivered his Inaugural Address well. The theme was “Unity” and was mostly positive.
2. By contrast, virtually every executive action he has taken was designed to undo Trump’s legacy. Such is not a move toward “Unity.”
3. Will Trump be tried in early February? Maybe, maybe not.
4. Vaccinations against Covid, with vaccines from both Pfizer and Moderna, have started! There have been few serious reactions to the vaccines. But distribution has been disorganized in the states.
5. The US economy began a strong recovery in June. The huge 3^rd quarter GDP gain shows the recovery is V-shaped. That recovery has extended well into the 4^th quarter as the latest data show. Another stimulus package is likely to speed it up again.
